Enjoying his post-season vacation, DeChambeau clearly didn’t take it lightly in his holidays. The 29-year-old gained a shredded body, which he proudly displayed in a recent Instagram post. It attracted numerous likes and comments and a three-emoji reaction from surfing legend, Kelly Slater.

But who is Kelly Slater? The American legend is a professional surfer and is regarded as one of the best ever to grace the unique sport. He has conquered the World Surf League, a premiere surfing event, a record eleven times.

Additionally, the 50-year-old is also an avid golfer himself. Slater has been featured on the PGA Tour’s YouTube channel, most notably during the surfer’s stint at the AT&T Pebble Beach seven years ago.

But why is DeChambeau sweating it off at the gym?

Isn’t it the holiday season? The 2020 US Open winner has just come off a challenging inaugural LIV Golf season, where controversy never stopped following him. It was a mentally exhausting year for him, with lawsuits and greed claims chasing him throughout.

On the professional front, DeChambeau was a pale shadow of himself. Captaining the Crushers GC side, Bryson never finished in the top 10 at any competition. His best rank from him was a 14th-place finish at the LIV Bangkok event.

But DeChambeau wasn’t ignorant of his shortcomings. If anything, he’s been forthcoming about his performance by him this season, with a view to making things better in 2023. In a recent chat after the end of the season, DeChambeau also spoke about how he ‘had his C game’ out on the course this season.
